Phototactic Insects

City. Residential area. Here, every dweller automatically becomes a commuter. This area completely dies out during the day. Because people treat their houses simply as places to spend the night. Unless it’s an issue of their personal space, residents are rarely bothered by matters pertaining to those residential areas. And since “personal space” describes merely what’s behind the front door, people stop caring about what’s on the outside of it — hallways, stairs, elevators. Dwellers of the residential areas are akin to phototactic insects; but whether they are drawn to or away from the house depends on the person.
